Salzburg 2025 - Here is where the music plays

Salzburg inspires with a variety of first-class festivals, opera performances and concerts. International stars such as Cecilia Bartoli and Rolando Villazón, an impressive ballet by John Neumeier and extraordinary performances from Mozart to Rossini characterise the city's musical year.

Starting in January, the Mozart Week opens the cultural year around Mozart's birthday.

The festival season kicks off with the Salzburg Easter Festival (12 to 21 April 2025) and the Salzburg Pentecost Festival (6 to 9 June 2025).

A special highlight of the Pentecost Festival is the Vivaldi pasticcio ‘Hotel Metamorphosis’, performed by Cecilia Bartoli and Angela Winkler, is a special highlight on the programme.

Another highlight is John Neumeier's ballet ‘Death in Venice’.

From 18 July to 31 August 2025, the world-famous Salzburg Festival attracts culture lovers from all over the world to the city of Mozart. Philipp Hochmair once again plays the legendary Jedermann. In addition, major operas such as Verdi's Macbeth and Donizetti's Maria Stuarda are on the programme at the Großes Festspielhaus - perfect occasions for extraordinary travel experiences.
